Robotic-Assisted Surgery
Get Moving Again with Da Vinci Xi®!
Robotic surgery offers various benefits for surgeons and their patients — from enhanced precision and better results to less pain and faster recovery times compared to traditional open procedures. And no robotic surgery system is more respected than Da Vinci®.

What is the Da Vinci Xi® Surgical System?
The Da Vinci Surgical System has several arms, which include a camera arm and surgical arms, that are controlled by a surgeon during procedures. The surgeon works from a console within the operating room that also features a high-definition, 3D display. The much smaller robotic “hands” help surgeons perform procedures through tiny incisions that human hands cannot.

Conditions Treated
Robot-assisted surgery is available as an alternative to traditional open and laparoscopic surgeries and is used to treat many conditions, including:
General Surgery:
- Hernia Repair
- Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder Removal)
Urology:
- Prostatectomy (Prostate Removal)
- Nephrectomy (Partial and Radical, Kidney Removal)
Gynecology:
- Hysterectomy (Uterus Removal)
- Cystectomy (Cyst Removal)
- Ablation for Endometriosis (Endometrial Tissue Removal)
Benefits of Da Vinci Xi® Robotic surgery
Robot-assisted surgery gives your surgeon greater precision and control over the surgical instruments than is possible with human movement alone. And compared to open surgery, it can offer additional patient benefits, including:
- Lower risk of infection
- Less blood loss
- Less trauma to surrounding healthy tissue
- Less pain
- Smaller scars
- Faster recovery

Surgeon console
The surgeon console is where your surgeon sits during the procedure, has a crystal-clear 3DHD view of your anatomy, and controls the instruments. The tiny instruments are “wristed” and move like a human hand but with a far greater range of motion.
Patient cart
The patient-side cart is positioned near the patient on the operating table. It is where the instruments used during the operation move in real-time in response to your surgeon’s hand movements at the surgeon console.
Vision cart
The vision cart makes communication between the components of the system possible and provides a screen for the care team to view the operation.
